FEMALE MENTOR
If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we’d love to have you join the team at Youth Encounter! This is a part time role with the potential to grow, depending on client referrals and your availability.
This person will be able to effectively engage with at-risk girls, building healthy connections and facilitate our strategic interventions through the mentoring relationship. Mentors at Youth Encounter are positive role models to support our young people and journey alongside them through life's experiences.
Key Responsibilities;
● Utilizing Resources Provided: Actively use our Mentoring Guide and other provided resources to guide your mentoring approach in alignment with Youth Encounter's Live Life Wide Open Strategy.
● Building Relationships: Establish a supportive and trusting relationship with each participant, acting as a reliable and positive influence in their lives.
● Guidance and Support: Offer guidance, advice, and feedback to participants, helping them develop life skills and make positive choices.
● Setting Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries and expectations for behaviour, while encouraging participants to take responsibility for their actions.
● Goal Setting and Values: Facilitate goal-setting exercises and explore values with participants using the mentor facilitator guide. Document these discussions in the Participant Record booklet.
● Planning and Communication: Plan engaging activities and schedule mentoring sessions in advance. Communicate session dates and times clearly with participants and/or their caregivers, sending reminders within 48 hours of each session.
● Individualized Support: Deliver individualized support based on each participant's client plan, as outlined in the Exess system.
● Case Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each participant, including timely completion of case notes, session reports, assessments, progress indicators, and feedback forms. Ensure all required paperwork is completed thoroughly and submitted on time.
