We are looking for a Youth Facilitator Activity Staff member who can instruct dirt bike riding and support other adventure activities as part of our team. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, is confident around dirt bikes, and is excited about developing their skills in youth facilitation.
You don’t need to arrive as an experienced youth worker — we can teach you.

This role is an opportunity to bring together adventure, relationship and purpose — while growing your own skills and helping young people discover what they are capable of.
What You'll Do
You'll initially use your practical skills to help us safely deliver dirt-bike activities across Youth Encounter programmes.
But this role is about much more than teaching someone to ride.
You'll work alongside mentors, counsellors and Youth Facilitators, learning how we use experiential activities to engage young people, build relationships and create opportunities for growth.
Your role may include:
Instructing young people in safe dirt-bike riding and foundational riding skills.
Preparing and maintaining bikes, safety equipment and activity environments.
Supporting adventure activities across therapy, mentoring, camps, events and youth development programmes.
Building positive and appropriate relationships with young people.
Encouraging participants through challenge, achievement and setbacks.
Supporting programme learning and participant outcomes alongside Youth Facilitators.
Developing your skills in group facilitation, experiential learning and Youth Encounter's Live Life Wide Open framework.
Contributing positively to our team, culture and wider Youth Encounter community.
This is a 22-month fixed-term position. Our hope is that, as Youth Encounter continues to grow, this role will become a permanent part of our team. While ongoing employment cannot be guaranteed, we are committed to investing in the right person and would love to see this position continue beyond the fixed-term period.

Volunteer Youth Mentors
If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people, we’d love to have you join the team at Youth Encounter as a Volunteer Youth Mentor.
This person will be able to effectively engage with at-risk girls, building healthy connections and facilitate our strategic interventions through the mentoring relationship. Volunteer Youth Mentors at Youth Encounter are positive role models to support our young people and journey alongside them through life's experiences.
Key Responsibilities;
● Utilizing Resources Provided: Actively use our Mentoring Guide and other provided resources to guide your mentoring approach in alignment with Youth Encounter's Live Life Wide Open Strategy.
● Building Relationships: Establish a supportive and trusting relationship with each participant, acting as a reliable and positive influence in their lives.
● Guidance and Support: Offer guidance, advice, and feedback to participants, helping them develop life skills and make positive choices.
● Setting Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries and expectations for behaviour, while encouraging participants to take responsibility for their actions.
● Goal Setting and Values: Facilitate goal-setting exercises and explore values with participants using the mentor facilitator guide. Document these discussions in the Participant Record booklet.
● Planning and Communication: Plan engaging activities and schedule mentoring sessions in advance. Communicate session dates and times clearly with participants and/or their caregivers, sending reminders within 48 hours of each session.
● Individualized Support: Deliver individualized support based on each participant's client plan, as outlined in the Exess system.
● Case Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each participant, including timely completion of case notes, session reports, assessments, progress indicators, and feedback forms. Ensure all required paperwork is completed thoroughly and submitted on time.
